Stacy and I workout together now and for some reason, the workouts are more fun - they don't seem like a chore anymore. Maybe it's because I'm forcing myself to keep up with Stacy since we are doing the same things? Or maybe it's because I'm getting better at the workouts themselves so I'm not afraid of them? Whatever the reason is, I like it. I look forward to going to the gym now, I look forward to whatever workout Stacy has planned (although I still get a but nervous when she has it written out on a paper ... lol)!!!
On another note, I got two more tattoos last night - one is symbolic of my two Half marathons that I did in September and October. I was going back and forth between quotes that I liked and wanted. In the end, I went with an original quote that my tattoo artist said when I explained the meaning behind the quote I originally chose. The saying I LOVED was:
"The miracle isn't that I finished, it's that I had the courage to start". Those words are so true ... But I was hesitant because of the size it would be on my arm. It would have taken up my entire lower forearm. So while I was telling about him my huge accomplishments, he very casually said "it's about the challenge" ... And that was it. I told him I wanted to change the artwork to that saying. He kept asking me
If I was certain and I said yes. It's true. It is about the challenge ... And pushing myself to new levels ... So that's now on my arm (still kinda big, but it's AWESOME).
The other one is a tribute to my Uncle Gary who passed away very suddenly when I was in Hawaii ... The day before the Maui half marathon. My uncle was a simple guy. He was hysterically funny and had the best laugh. He was also quite calm, and he had a saying that he would tell anyone that needed to be calmed down ... "Suave" (pronounced swaaavvayy) ... He also had a very interesting handwriting and I remembered that there was a recipe written out by him in my grandmas cabinet. I also noticed that every letter in "suave" was in this recipe (it was a sign), so, I snapped a pic of it and brought it with me. I asked the guy to trace the letters in suave for the tattoo and that was my tribute tattoo for Uncle Gary. Simple, to the point and where I can see it and remember it and him all the time.
