We start by warming up with various exercises by doing laps around the pool with these styrofoam type weights - jogging while moving your arms back and forth, touching your weights to your feet, skiing type motion, squats, and jumping over the weights going forward, then backwards. Then the real exercises begin! Has anyone ever done jumping jacks in the water with wet styrofoam weights?? It's not easy!!!
We tried a new routine today, I think it was supposed to mimic a mountain climber type move (push-up position and bring your legs up to your chest and back out again), but in the water it was NOT easy!!! I thought I was going to get it right and ended up getting a face full of water!!! Stacy asked me if I wanted floaties to keep me from sinking!! HA!!!!
I really enjoy the aqua class - it's a fantastic workout, and since it's in the water, I stay nice and cool!! The water makes the same exercises out of the water much more bearable. While I still feel the muscles getting worked, they don't burn to the same extent. I will feel that burn tomorrow - I have a doozy of a workout in store for me ... but I'm ready, I think!! HA!!!
I kept my diet in control today ... until the icee I had tonight (with Stacy)!!!
- English muffin with 1 tbsp peanut butter/jelly
- half of a chicken cutlet parm hero (BUT NO BREAD)
- snacks were cherries, a peach and an apple
- and yes, I had a medium peanut butter ice from Lemon Ice King of Corona, and I enjoyed every bite of it!!!!
Tomorrows update will be late as well; I'm not meeting with Stacy till 9:00pm, but I will blog as soon as I get home!!!
Wish me luck for tomorrow ... apparently I am going to need it! :-0
