so, whether it be studying more and talking less in school; geSting out and doing more in my spare time (before hockey took over our lives of course); being careful with my spending habits and of course being more conscious of my weight and activity level - or lack thereof; he always cared. When I joined the broomball team a few years ago, he was thrilled. I was doing something that made me happy, I would come home and tell him how I did and he was so happy. I haven't played since my surgery (well, one game), so there hasn't been anything "new" going on ... until my new workout regime began.
He was telling a friend of his that he never thought his daughter would be a "gym rat". I tell him about my workouts with Stacy, and I show him the book I made (I print out ALL the workouts I do and keep them in a notebook so I can see my progress) with all the printouts ... he keeps saying he gets tired just looking at them! Well, tonight, he told me "you look great!! Keep it up!!". Hearing him say that was awesome!! Other people (including my mom, grandmas, friends and other family members) have told me I look good and to keep up whatever it is that I'm doing; but there was something extra special hearing those words from my daddy!
