so now that the weather is starting to warm up, I've decided to make the most of all of my breaks, and on both 15 minute breaks, and for half of my lunch. today I went outside and walked around the parking lot. so I was able to add in over 45 minutes of walking into my daily routine, and Im looking to keep this up. I've realized that walking on my breaks actually help me maintain a higher energy level throughout the whole day. This is definitely something that I am going to keep up. besides adding in the walking to my routine, today I kept up my usual gym routine, and spent 30 minutes on the stair master and then was able to run 1.30 miles.
so this week has been a lot of self workouts, I have been working on getting better on running, and stepping it up a notch on the stair master, Having stacy as my trainer has definitely been super beneficial, because when I work out on my own, I've realized I don't push myself nearly as much as when stacy is there. eating wise, I have been doing super well, Ive been able to stick to my diet very well. not going out to eat as much, and meal prep has not only helped me make better choices, but also save a lot of money, so its been beneficial not only with reaching my goal, but also with saving.
yesterday was meal prep day, for the week I made boiled eggs for breakfast, grilled pesto chicken and broccoli for lunch, and turkey meat balls to go in salads for dinner, after this passed weekend, my body wants and most likely can only handle healthy food. I ate very bad this weekend, and boy oh boy did I pay for it. My stomach was not happy with me at all, and just today am I starting to feel better. Today stacy and I had a very very intense work out, and twice during the jumping jacks, I felt as if I was about to throw up, luckily I was able to keep my cool, and finish the work out, tomorrow I kno for sure I am going to be sore, we did so many squats today. however the hardest part for me still remains to be push ups and the ab work outs.
so on the 1st we did our second weight in and measurements, and I did lose alot more weight this time around, however my measurements weren't as great as I would of hoped for.
weight: 2/1:175 3/1:166 chest: 2/1: 43inches 3/1: 41 inches biceps: 2/1: 11 inches 3/1: 10.5 inches waist: 2/1: 43 inches 3/1: 40.5 inches gluts: 2/1: 43.5 inches 3/1: 44 inches thigh: 2/1: 26 iches 3/1: 25 inches calf: 2/1: 15inches 3/1:14.5 inches We have one more month of our challenge and I am hopping to be as close as ever to my goal weight, and make a serious impact on my inches. my thighs and stomach being of the most concern to me, followed by my arms. so today was meal prep day, I am determined to be as strict as possible for the rest of our challenge and knew that food is one of my biggest down falls. I have no problem making sure to work out 5 days a week, but when it comes to eating, I know that I am easily side tracked. So this week on the menu for breakfast I have boiled egg whites, and cut up fruit. For lunch I made grilled pesto chicken with broccoli some days, and other will be grilled chicken salads. for dinner I made turkey burgers (no bun) with broccoli some days, zucchini others and sweet potatoes. My snacks I also have covers, carrots and hummus and all natural peanut butter for those times that I am craving a reese peanut butter cup hahaha.
so our work out two days ago, I thought was the hardest thus far, until todays work out...... for the last two days, walking, sitting, using the bathroom, even sudden movements, caused pain in my legs, most within the thigh region. multiple times though out the day I found myself saying "screw stacy" because of the pain. I know that the pain means its working, and tomorrow I most likely will be the most sore I've been in a really long time after both of these intense work outs. on paper, they don't seem like much, but when the sweat is dripping down your forehead, you begin to realize just how hard each work out actually is.
so, last week I feel off track not only while on vacation exercise wide, but also with blogging. Last week I was in texas, and while I did my best to eat as healthy as possible, i did fall off the wagon a few times. eating voodoo donuts, and brunch that stacy most likely wouldn't approved off. while away, although I was not able to keep up her work outs, I did stay very active, not only did we go on a hike, but most of the trip we walked all day long, weather is be shopping, or just around the city. This week, I have a lot of making up to do, and tonights work out was most certainly a very big step in the right direction.
So I have kind of fallen off the wagon with blogging, mainly because I have been running around getting ready for vacation, and partially because I have been laying in my bed complaining about craps the last few days and not really doing much. all in all the last few days I have been doing pretty well eating wise despite my wild cravings. This week at my weekly dinner with the girls (my usual cheat mea) I actually ordered shredded chicken seasoned with thyme and lemon, and a side salad. It wasn't as satisfying as my usual wednesday meal, but I knew today that I had brunch plans with my friends, and I wanted to use this as my cheat meal. Today I was able to get in a good workout and I plan on kicking it up a notch tomorrow and tuesday right before vacation.
Todays work out:
5 minute burpees 4 minute rest 4 minute jumping jacks 3 minute rest 3 minute high knees 2 minute rest 2 minute push-ups 1 minute rest 1 minutes sit ups aka hell todays work out was most certainly a challenge for me all around, the work minutes seemed to be never ending, and the breaks didn't seem long enough. all in all though, I pushed my hardest and tried to keep up momentum throughout the whole work out. the burpees and pushups are definitely the areas I struggles in the most, I am not sure if I will ever be good at pushups. so over the weekend is when I usually struggle the most in sticking with my diet, and this weekend was no different. I am very proud of myself for sticking well almost all of saturday to my healthy eating habits, even while out to dinner with my girl friends. however, when dessert was served, I did indulge. I had three bites, one of each type of dessert that the table was splitting. I finished off the weekend with food shopping for nothing but healthiness, and meal prepped for the week. I also cleaned the cabinets of anything that could resemble temptation. this up coming weekend I won't be going out of town, and will do my best to cut the habit of letting the weekend be my down fall.
